National Registry of Health Establishments (CNES)

The National Registry of Health Establishments (CNES) is a public document and official information system for registering information about all health establishments in the country, regardless of their legal nature or integration with the Unified Health System (SUS). The data refers to the installed capacity and health care workforce in Brazil in public or private health establishments. The CNES is the cadastral base for the operation of several systems, such as: Outpatient Information System (SIA), Hospital Information System (SIH), e- SUS Basic Care (e-SUS AB), among others. Currently, the CNES is an auxiliary tool for efficient and effective management, providing the manager with knowledge of the reality of the existing care network and its potential, and assisting in health planning at all administrative levels of the Government.
