National High School Exam (Enem)

The National High School Exam (Enem) was created in 1998, with the aim of assessing the performance of high school graduates. From 2004, the exam began to be used as a tool for admission to higher education institutions and, in 2010, with its inclusion in the Unified Selection System (Sisu), it was recognized as the largest and most comprehensive educational exam in Brazil. Throughout its creation, the Enem ended up replacing the traditional entrance exam held by national colleges and universities, becoming today a tool for granting partial and full scholarships at private colleges, through the University for All Program (Prouni).
