WikiArt is an online encyclopedia of visual art. --- ### Project goal Our main goal is to make the art of the world accessible to anyone, anywhere. WikiArt already has about 250,000 artworks by 3,000 artists, localized in 7 languages. These artworks are located in museums, universities, city halls and other civil buildings in over 100 countries. Most of this art is not visible to the public. With your active involvement, we plan to cover the entire history of art on Earth, from cave art to modern private collections. We also provide tools for translation in as many languages as needed. ### Financial status The project is non-profit. We use advertising as a financial source to cover hosting and technical service expenses. The website content is launched free of charge by our team of volunteers - and you can participate.
