National Household Sample Survey - Continuous (PNAD-C)
The National Household Sample Survey - Continuous (PNAD-C) is a survey carried out by the IBGE with the objective of continuously producing information about the labor market, associated with demographic and educational characteristics. Periodically, additional permanent themes are analyzed, such as child labor and other forms of work, fertility and migration, and supplementary themes, selected according to need, related to the socioeconomic development of the country. The survey provides monthly information for a restricted set of indicators related to the labor force, quarterly for labor force indicators, annually for permanent and additional themes on labor force and work, and variable for supplementary themes. Monthly information is representative only at the national level, and the others are representative for the geographical levels: Brazil, Major Regions, Federation Units, 20 Metropolitan Regions containing Capital Municipalities, Capital Municipalities and Integrated Development Region of Greater Teresina. Every quarter, approximately 211,000 households are investigated, inserted in approximately 16,000 census sectors in 3,500 municipalities.
