Public data,processed and always up-to-date

DB Pro is the Data Basis subscription that gives you access to the most up-to-date public data. With it, you access the country's main datasets — always up to date, cleaned, integrated and ready for analysis via SQL, Python or R. The subscription also includes automatic update notifications and expanded limits for direct download.

By subscribing to DB Pro, you support the Data Basis mission — a nonprofit organization that extracts, standardizes and freely provides thousands of other datasets, democratizing access to information and accelerating the work of researchers, journalists, public managers and companies.

Some datasets are available both in the free version of the platform and in the DB Pro subscription — the difference is the temporal coverage. The DB Pro version always brings the most recent data, while the open version keeps a six-month lag.

When you select a table, you can check its update frequency and temporal coverage on the table page:

The most recent data is available exclusively to DB Pro subscribers. To get access, simply subscribe to the service — any person or organization can subscribe without restrictions. As soon as payment is completed, access is granted automatically and you can start using the updated data on the platform.

All datasets with automatic updates included in the subscription are listed in the metadata catalog. There you can filter, explore and check the temporal coverage of each one.

DB Pro data can be accessed in different ways:

• Directly in Google BigQuery, using SQL to run queries
• Through the DB packages for Python, R and Stata
• Through BI tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik and others.

In all cases you will need to create a project in BigQuery with the email registered in DB Pro.

There is no usage limit imposed by DB. What exists is a free quota of 1 TB/month granted by Google to all users — if it is exceeded and billing is enabled on your project, Google Cloud may generate extra costs.

Data Basis will never charge extra fees without you having confirmed and processed the payment yourself on our payment platform.

However, Google Cloud may charge you if you exceed the project's free quota and have billing enabled. Currently, the BigQuery analysis cost is US$5 per additional TB processed.

Integrated data is data from different sources, organized and standardized to allow joint analysis — without you needing to process anything yourself.

All DB datasets are integrated. For example, you can cross a region's import data with its socioeconomic indicators in a single SQL, Python or R query.
